Democracy engineering theory was invented in 2002 by Troy Davis, a French citizen born in Alsace, the border region with Germany which has seen thousands of years of war and which is now a symbol of reconciliation between peoples. He teaches this theory at several universities in France (Sciences Po Strasbourg, IHEE- Institut des Hautes Etudes Européennes) and Germany (Albert-Ludwigs Universität in Freiburg). He studied physics, anthropology, evolutionary biology, history and Sumerian at Harvard University, and graduated with a degree in physics. He is an applied philosopher, social entrepreneur, consulting democracy engineer and President of the Association for the School of democracy (www.ecoledelademocratie.org). Democracy engineering theory implies a more general theory of democracy, and has already been applied in various cases : Israeli-Palestinian peace process, pre-emptive democracy in Iraq, post-war democratic process for Iraq, constitutional process for the European Union, stabilisation of the Balkans, UN reform and global governance. Stratégie et Ingénierie en Démocratie / Democracy Engineering and Strategy was founded in 2004, and is officially registered as a consulting company in Strasbourg, France.
